Richmond Heights Police: Snow Plowing Breaks Door

Richmond Heights Police dealt with several thefts at the Galleria and other crime between March 20-26.

The following information was supplied by the Richmond Heights Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, March 20

  • Officers were directed to the area of 1600 Big Bend as witnesses were following a vehicle that was speeding and driving erratically. Upon stopping the vehicle, investigation found the driver to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI and later released on a municipal court summons.

  • An officer discovered a vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection of Big Bend and Dale. Investigation found the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI and later released on a municipal court summons

Saturday, March 23

  • Officers responded to Macy’s where security detained two juveniles for stealing $190 in merchandise. The juveniles were arrested and later conveyed to the St. Louis County juvenile detention center.

Sunday, March 24

  • Officers responded to H&M where security detained an employee for stealing. The employee conducted two fraudulent returns and issued herself merchandise credit. The employee was arrested and later released on a municipal warrant application.
  • Officers responded to Mesa Cycles where the front glass door of the business was shattered. Nothing was taken from the business and it was concluded that the damage may have been caused during the snow plowing of Big Bend.

Tuesday, March 26

  • Victim reported that a friend of hers stole her credit card and used it at Macy’s, Charlie’s Grilled Subs and Sunny Shades.  These stores are located at the St. Louis Galleria. Investigation is ongoing.
  • Victim stated that person(s) unknown stole the rear license plate from his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence in the 1500 block of Claytonia.
  • Victim reported that her vehicle was entered at 1034 Brentwood Blvd and $30 cash and credit card stolen. There was no forced entry into the vehicle and the card was not used.
