Richmond Heights and Clayton Appear Unscathed in Friday Storm

Richmond Heights and Clayton do not appear to have sustained damage in storms that passed through St. Louis on Friday.

"Believe it or not, there was no damage in Richmond Heights that we're aware of," Battalion Chief Tom Nuernberger of the Richmond Heights Fire Department said.

Nuernberger said he is unaware of any shelters that have been set up in the east-central corridor for people from other communities affected by the storm, though he said shelters have been set up in the northern parts of St. Louis County.

Clayton-Richmond Heights Patch could not immediately confirm whether Clayton sustained any damage.

The city's communications coordinator, Judy Kekich, said that while she had no official knowledge about how Clayton was affected, it's her understanding that the storm largely bypassed that area of the county.

Officials with the Clayton and Richmond Heights police departments could not immediately be reached for comment.

No significant power outages were being reported in either Clayton or Richmond Heights, Ameren's website stated.
