RH Police: Dog Left in Hot Car at Galleria

Richmond Heights Police dealt with thefts at the Galleria and other crime.

The following information was supplied by the Richmond Heights Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, May 15

  • Officers responded to an auto accident in the 7700 block of Bruno where one of the driver’s was an unlicensed juvenile who had taken her parent’s vehicle without their knowledge. The juvenile was arrested and later released to a parent.
Thursday, May 16
  • Officers responded to St. Mary’s where they met the victim, a switch board operator for the hospital. The victim stated that she had been receiving repeated threatening phone calls from her ex-boyfriend. Investigation is ongoing.
Friday, May 17
  • A resident woke up to a find a person sleeping in her backyard in the 1000 block of Yale. Investigation found the subject to be extremely intoxicated. The subject was arrested and later released on a summons.
Saturday, May 18
  • Victim reported that person(s) unknown stole his backpack from the gym floor at The Heights. The backpack contained the victim’s mobile phone.
  • Victim stated that person(s) unknown stole her purse while she attended the Little Flower’s barbecue.
Sunday, May 19
  • Officers responded to Dillard’s after a subject stole a stack of jeans from the store and security gave chase. The jeans were recovered but the subject made good her escape.
  • Officers responded to the Galleria lot where a dog was found alone inside a secured vehicle that was in obvious heat distress. The owner of the dog was located and issued a summons.
  • Investigation into a traffic violation at West Bruno and Laclede found the driver of a vehicle to likely be intoxicated. The driver was arrested for suspicion of DWI and later released on summonses.
