Rash of Vehicle Break-Ins, Pain Medication Stolen

Richmond Heights Police say several cars have been broken into lately.

The following information was supplied by the Richmond Height Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 17

  • Officers responded to Dillard’s where security had detained a subject for stealing $46.20 in merchandise. The subject was arrested and held on a municipal warrant application.

  • An officer stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Brentwood for committing multiple traffic violations. Investigation resulted in the driver of the vehicle being arrested on suspicion of DWI. The driver was later released on municipal court summonses.
  • Victim reported that person(s) unknown broke into his vehicle while parked on the Duffy’s lot. About $20 in cash was taken.

Saturday, Jan. 19

  • Victim reported that person(s) unknown broke into her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence in the 1700 block of Yale, overnight. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
  • Victim reported that person(s) unknown broke into his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence in the 7100 block of Plateau, overnight. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
  • Victim reported that person(s) unknown broke into his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence in the 7100 block of Plateau, overnight. An iPod was taken from the vehicle.
  • Officers responded to Dillard’s where security had detained a subject for stealing $96 in merchandise. The subject was arrested and later released on a municipal court summons.

  • Officers responded to the H&M store where security had detained a subject for stealing $169.75 in merchandise. The subject was arrested and later released on a municipal court summons.
  • Several vehicles, parked on the street on the 7400 block of Rupert, were discovered with damage to their windows. The damage appeared to have been made by a bb or pellet.

Monday, Jan. 21

  • Victim reported that person(s) unknown attempted to break into his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence in the 7700 block of Dale, overnight. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
  • Management at Sunrise Assisted Living reported that several sleeves of pain medication were stolen.
  • Officers responded to the H&M store where security had detained a subject for stealing $22.90 in merchandise. The subject was arrested and later released on a municipal court summons.
