Police: String of Vehicle Break-Ins Hits Wise, Hoover, St. Albans

Speakers, an amplifier and other items were taken during the incidents this month in Richmond Heights.

Multiple car break-ins and an attempted vehicle theft happened over a recent two-day period, the Richmond Heights Police Department reported.

The incidents occurred on streets such as Wise, Hoover and St. Albans avenues:

  • An overnight truck break-in that happened in the 7500 block of Wise Avenue damaged the lock on the driver's door of the vehicle. It was reported Sept. 16. Nothing had been taken from inside.
  • An overnight vehicle break-in that happened in the 7500 block of Hoover Avenue damaged the lock on the driver's door of the vehicle. It was reported Sept. 16. Nothing had been taken from inside.
  • An attempted vehicle theft apparently happened overnight in the 7500 block of Hoover Avenue. It was reported Sept. 16. Damage to the steering column was consistent with an attempted theft, and the perpetrator damaged the driver's door lock to enter the vehicle. 
  • Speakers and an amplifier were stolen during an overnight car break-in that happened in the 7700 block of St. Albans Avenue. It was reported Sept. 16. The driver's door lock had been damaged.
  • A work-related security guard belt with handcuffs and pepper spray was stolen during a vehicle break-in that happened in the 6700 block of Clayton Road. It was reported Sept. 17. The vehicle's front passenger window had been smashed.
