Police: Marijuana Found in Vehicle with Sleeping Passengers

It happened this month.

Two people were taken into custody July 1 after officers with the found them asleep in a vehicle on Hanley Road at Highway 40.

Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Police said they found a baggie of marijuana in the driver's pocket. Officers took him into custody on suspicion of possessing marijuana. He later received summonses for the drug count and driving with a revoked license.

They took the passenger into custody because he had outstanding traffic warrants through the St. Louis County Police Department.

An inventory conducted after the vehicle was towed away revealed another bag of marijuana in the driver's door panel pocket.
