Officers Interrupted Man Loading Stolen Items Into Car, Police Say
The man had broken into a home in the 8100 block of Westmoreland Avenue and his car was parked in the driveway.
An officer spotted a man loading his car with items he had just stolen from Clayton home in the 8100 block of Westmoreland Avenue at about 7:50 p.m. Nov. 18, police said.
Rodney Dunlap, 45, of the 3500 block of Grer Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Nov. 19 with second-degree burglary and felony stealing.
Clayton Police said an officer on patrol spotted Dunlap loading his car, which was parked in the victims’ driveway, with items he’d stolen from the house. The items included a flat-screen television, two laptop computers, 74 pieces of jewelry, and a watch. The items were valued at $4,600 according to the police report.

Dunlap is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $20,000.
