Man Charged With Robbing Pulaski Bank in Richmond Heights

George Habermehl was charged in the Pulaski Bank robbery in Richmond Heigts Tuesday.

A man was charged with robbing Pulaski Bank in Richmond Heights Tuesday morning.

George Habermehl, 49, of Belleville, IL, was charged Tuesday with first-degree robbery.

Richmond Heights Police said Habermehl went into the bank at 6510 Clayton Road and handed the teller a note threatening to shoot him if he didn’t follow instructions. The note demanded the teller give Habermehl 50 $100 bills, police said.

The teller gave the man $2,500 in a bag that contained a GPS tracking device. Police caught Habermehl a short distance away. Police said witnesses identified him.

Habermehl is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $100,000.
