Illegal Mushrooms Prompt Two Arrests in Richmond Heights

Police made the discovery while helping the Richmond Heights Fire Department.

Two people have been arrested in Richmond Heights after police discovered illegal mushrooms growing in their basement.

It happened May 15. The had been putting out a fire at the home in the 1700 block of Boneta Avenue. Officials with the assisted and later found the fungi, heroin and marijuana inside.

The two were arrested on suspicion of violating Missouri's controlled substance law.
