Clayton Firefighters Give $3,000 for Breast Cancer Research

They held a fundraiser in October to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

Members of the donated more than $3,000 toward breast cancer research this month, the city announced Thursday in a news release.

Firefighters presented a check for $3,146 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. They held a barbecue in October to raise awareness of the cancer and raise funds. About 400 people bought hamburgers, hot dogs and pork tenderloin sandwiches.

Another barbecue fundraiser is planned in the fall.
