Child Abuse Charges Investigated in Richmond Heights

Police learned of the case after a person with the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District contacted Missouri's abuse hotline.

Four siblings are in foster care after police said they found evidence of abuse.

No arrests have been made, though the possibility of criminal charges is under investigation, Capt. Doug Schaeffler of the said Tuesday.

The children were moved to foster care April 26.

It happened after a person with the noticed bruising on one of the children and contacted the Missouri Children's Division Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline Unit. Social workers investigated the case and contacted police, who interviewed their mother and found evidence of abuse.

Schaeffler could not release the ages of the children because all of them are juveniles.

He said people who think a child has been abused should "absolutely" call the hotline.  The number is 1-800-392-3738.
