Burglary on Oakland Avenue, Punctured Tires on Silverton and More

Sunday, Aug. 26
Several vehicles parked on the street in the 1400 block of Silverton Place sustained punctured tires and paint scratches caused by a key. A suspect had not been identified.

Wednesday, Aug. 29
An iPhone and credit cards were stolen from an employee's purse left in a back room at at the .

Friday, Aug. 31
Three perpetrators stole sunglasses from Sunglass Hut at the Galleria. A person obtained their license plate information from the parking garage, and an investigation was underway.

Two stolen vehicles are at the center of an investigation in .  A witness reported seeing a man standing outside a vehicle with its door and trunk open in the 1100 block of Bellevue Avenue. When questioned, the man fled to a waiting car that held two other people. The getaway vehicle had been stolen, and the vehicle with the open door and trunk had been stolen and recovered in July without its keys. A suspect in the original incident might be linked to the Bellevue case, police said.

Sunday, Sept. 2
Two TVs and a laptop were stolen from a home in the 7000 block of Oakland Avenue. The perpetrator entered the house through a back window.

Three perpetrators grabbed clothing from at the Galleria and ran to a vehicle waiting just outside the store's east doors. One of them discharged pepper spray while being chased by security before entering the car. Security obtained no license plate information, and the surveillance video is poor.

Monday, Sept. 3
A traffic stop in the 6400 block of Clayton Road resulted in the arrest of a woman on suspicion of marijuana possession and outstanding warrants. The driver, a man, received a traffic summons before being released. 

Tuesday, Sept. 4
A 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Dillard's at the Galleria. He was being while police applied for a warrant because he has a lengthy arrest record.

A 38-year-old woman from Dallas was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Macy's at the Galleria. She was being held while police applied for a warrant.
