Burglaries on Yale Avenue, Stolen Vehicle, Assault and More

Friday, June 1
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his mother's boyfriend in the 7500 block of Hiawatha Avenue. The victim told police the man hit him with his fists and pulled out some of his hair. Police were seeking multiple warrants.

A gallon-sized glass jar filled with coins was taken during a burglary in the 1100 block of Yale Avenue. The perpetrator entered the house through a side window.

Saturday, June 2
A person of interest was taken into custody near the 1100 block of Yale Avenue after the second burglary on that street in two days. Police said that the man was taken into custody on unrelated charges but that he would be questioned in connection with both burglaries. An electric  guitar and DVDs were taken in the second burglary, which happened June 2. The perpetrator entered the home by prying open its back door.

Sunday, June 3
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Dillard's, 1105 Saint Louis Galleria. Police were seeking a warrant.

A man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct on the Galleria parking lot. It happened after police responded to a report of stealing  at Casual Male, 1026 S. Brentwood Blvd. They found the suspect on the Galleria parking lot and detained him, at which point he became loud, verbally abused officers and threatened to spit on one of them. He was released, and police were seeking a warrant.

A cellphone was stolen at Tropicana Lanes, 7960 Clayton Rd. The victim left the phone on the counter behind the bowling lanes, forgot about it and later returned to find it missing.

Monday, June 4
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Solstice, 2134 Saint Louis Galleria. He received a summons before being released.

Tuesday, June 5
A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Icing, 2471 Saint Louis Galleria. She was being held while police applied for a warrant.

A vehicle was stolen from the Galleria parking lot on the north side of Dillard's. The victim told police it happened while she was at work in the mall.
