70-Year-Old Clayton Man Shakes, Pushes Wife, Threatens With Knife, Police Say

The Clayton man was charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

A man shook his wife, pushed her into a cabinet and threatened her with a knife Nov. 10 in Clayton, police said.

Dennis Matteuzzi, 70, of the first block of Carrswold Drive in Clayton, was charged Nov. 12 with third-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Clayton Police said Matteuzzi grabbed his wife, shook her and pushed her into a cabinet and she fell onto the floor. He then grabbed a knife and threatened his wife, holding the knife in the air, according a police report.

Matteuzzi posted 10 percent of the $20,000 bond and was released from jail Wednesday. He is to have no contact with his wife and is prohibited from having any weapons.
