Clayton Man Killed in Colorado Motorcycle Accident

Christopher Corrigan died this weekend.

resident Christopher Corrigan died this weekend after a motorcycle crash in Colorado, an official with the Boulder County Coroner's Office confirmed Monday.

Corrigan, 57, was pronounced dead at Boulder Community Hospital, deputy coroner Lindsey Wolman said. Next of kin have been notified.

The accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. CST on Saturday as Corrigan traveled on U.S. 36 on his Harley-Davidson, Trooper Nate Reid of the Colorado State Patrol said. As he approached the highway's intersection with Nelson Road, the driver of an Oldsmobile Bravada pulled onto the highway without yielding to him.

Corrigan struck the vehicle and was ejected from the motorcycle, Reid said.

The driver, 27-year-old Jessica Griffin of Denver, was not injured, Reid said. A passenger also was riding in the vehicle at the time.

Charges are anticipated but will not be filed until the conclusion of an investigation by the Colorado State Patrol, Reid said. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected of having played a role, meaning the case would not be considered a felony. Reid said that he could not speculate on possible charges and that an investigation could take two weeks or a month.

The patrol will send any charges to the district attorney's office.
