Clayton High School Mock Trial Team Wins State Championship!

Team defeats Saint Louis University High School to advance to National Championship.

The Clayton High School Mock Trial Team defeated Saint Louis University High School to win the Missouri State Championship.

The championship trial was held at the Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse on Sunday April 7 and presided over by Catherine Perry, Chief United States District Judge. It was the culmination of a season of intense competition between teams from all across the state.

The team includes seniors Alex Meneses, Ian Tarr and Emma Riley. The team also includes junior Arya Yadama, sophomores Jeffrey Cheng, Rachel Bluestone, Nathan Jarvis, Jake Tarr and freshman Omkar Venkatesh.

It is coached by speech and debate coach Justin Seiwell, lawyer Michael Wetmore (lawyer coach) and Karen Wetmore. The team finished second in state in 2012.

Clayton High School will now move on to nationals to be held in Indianapolis May 9-11.
