Make Metro a Part of Your Holidays This Year

The holidays are upon us yet many of us don't take a moment to stop and enjoy some of the great holiday events and activities in  St. Louis.  This year, take a moment, sit back and relax, and leave the driving to Metro.  Better yet, bring your kids or grandkids onboard Metro's Holiday Magic Train to add a little bit more magic to your holidays. 

The Holiday Magic Train is back for its third holiday season with several events planned for December.  Metro is partnering with St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission (CVC) to make the holiday train a great asset to the St. Louis holiday scene.  The Holiday Magic Train is decked-out in blue and silver ornaments, garland, wreaths, and snowflake decorations and is ready to go!  The train’s mascot, Snowflake the Snowman, completes the winter wonderland theme.  In addition to the decor, musical performances will take place aboard the Holiday Magic Train throughout the month of December and also at selected MetroLink stations.  Check out the schedule below to make sure you don’t miss the holiday fun.

Remember MetroLink and MetroBus are great ways to get around to avoid the busy rush of traffic and for many children, a completely new experience.  Think about boarding MetroLink at the Clayton MetroLink Station or jump on the #32 Martin Luther King bus in Maplewood and ride downtown to shop at some of the new venues, check out the holiday sights, or just to explore downtown.  Teaching children at a young age how to ride the system is just one more way we can grow support for transit in St. Louis.

HOLIDAY MAGIC SCHEDULE:
Saturday, December 8 (12:12-2:11 pm) — Chamber Project St. Louis will be performing on the Holiday Magic Train, traveling on the Blue Line from Fairview Heights to Shrewsbury and back.

Thursday, December 13 (12:00-12:30 pm) – Crossroads College Prep Rock Band will perform at the Skinker MetroLink Station.

Friday, December 14 (5:00-5:30 pm) — Normandy High School Brass Ensemble will perform at the North Hanley Transit Center.

Saturday, December 15 (1:22-3:21 pm) — Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers will be performing on the Holiday Magic Train, traveling on the Red Line from Fairview Heights to Lambert Airport and back.

Wednesday, December 19 (4:45-5:15 pm) — Vashon High School Wind and Percussion Troupe will be performing at the Grand MetroLink Station.

Thursday, December 20 (5:30-6:00 pm) — Bayless High School’s Xpression group will sing at the Brentwood MetroLink Station.

The Holiday Magic Train is scheduled to run on the Red Line (Lambert St. Louis Airport) December 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28, 29, and 31.  It will run on the Blue Line (Shrewsbury MetroLink) December 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 18, 20, 22, 25, and 27.
