Citizens for Modern Transit teams up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to offer enhanced Guaranteed Ride Home Program for commuters

Citizens for Modern Transit is now ensuring that your commute by transit, bike or walking is guaranteed with an enhanced Guaranteed Ride Home Program through a partnership with Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Employees of the more than 200 area companies and organizations participating in Citizens for Modern Transit’s (CMT) Guaranteed Ride Home Program, who commute to work via MetroLink, MetroBus, bicycling or walking, can now take advantage of an another immediate transportation option in case of an emergency. In addition to having access to a subsidized cab ride, those with a personal emergency, sickness or unscheduled overtime have the ability to rent specially priced vehicles from the largest rental car company in North America, Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Those registered for CMT’s Guaranteed Ride Home Program can rent vehicles from all Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations in the Greater St. Louis Region, Southern Missouri and Southern Illinois at the price of $45 per day, which includes fuel and rental coverage, plus free pickup and a ride home at no additional cost. Much like the cab ride option, where commuters can call the cab company of their choice on the day of the emergency, those wanting to rent a vehicle can do so by calling 1-800-RENT-A-CAR or visiting www.enterprise.com.  CMT offers reimbursement of 80 percent of the cost of the cab or rental fee up to $60. When renting a car through Enterprise Rent-A-Car or arranging for a taxi cab, commuters must pay for the entire cost of the ride home, and then submit the receipt to CMT for reimbursement.

For many registered commuters, this means renting a car for the ‘emergency ride home’ could be cheaper than taking a cab. After 80 percent of the $45 rental fee is paid for, commuters are only responsible for $9. This is an exceptional offer and Citizens for Modern Transit is thrilled to be teaming up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to extend this option to our Guaranteed Ride Home Program participants.
