New Clayton Pizza Spot: Fresh Ingredients, Not So Much Provel

Zpizza, on the edge of the Moorlands neighborhood, will use two electric bikes for deliveries.

An owner of the soon to be opened Zpizza, in the previous Tip Top Cleaners spot at the intersection of Wydown Boulevard and Westwood Drive, was on location last week, and shared some details with Patch.

Brent Miller is the owner, along his wife, Bethany.

He said his pizza isn't the traditional St. Louis pizza.

"I've been to a lot of the places here," he said. "It's a lot of provel cheese, that's big in St. Louis, we're different from that. Salads are fresh. It's a different concept."

He said fresh produce will be brought in daily, and none of it will be in bags.

Miller said he like's the Thai and Mexican pizzas. "When it's fresh it just tastes different. Those are my two favorites," he said.

He said he loves the spot. "We have a great delivery area in every direction," he said.

Two electric bikes with LED lights will be used for deliveries. "It's kind of a Southern California kind of thing, but I think it fits in well here. It's green," Miller said.

There will be 16 seats indoors and 16 on the patio. He's also planning on having a license to serve beer and wine. The location has five parking spots.

Miller is currently in California for 30 days of training at the franchise office. He took his two fulltime manager along with him. He hired them from Jimmy John's and Buffalo Wild Wings.

The grand opening is April 6. Miller is planning on $1 slices, and giving away Blues and Cardinals tickets.
