Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade

Now in its 27th year, the parade will begin at 8:45 a.m. from the corner of Washington Avenue and Fourth Street in downtown St. Louis. It proceeds South on N. 4th Street to Market Street. From there it heads West on Market Street and concludes at 14th Street.

It will be broadcast live starting at 8 a.m. on KMOV-TV Channel 4’s Great Day St. Louis.

The Harlem Globetrotters were named Honorary Grand Marshals of the 2011 Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Among the headliners for the Globetrotters are Jacob “Hops” Tucker and Scooter Christensen.

Vince Bommarito, lifelong resident of St. Louis and owner of Tony’s, will serve as Honorary Grand Marshal.

The parade features floats, balloons, area marching bands, the annual Battle of the Bands Contest and more than 100 different groups encompassing 300 volunteers.The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission’s Holiday Magic team will participate in this year’s parade, and the Holiday Magic mascot, Snowflake, will also be on hand. 

The annual Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade is hosted by Christmas in St. Louis along with presenting sponsor Ameren Missouri and the City of St. Louis. The parade charitable recipients are the Academy of St. Louis and the Miriam Foundation.
