Deb Douglas, "Works on Paper"

The St. Louis Artists' Guild is proud to present a solo exhibition of works on paper by Deb Douglas. Drawing from the realms of both art history and pop culture, Douglas users found and vernacular imagery to cryptically represent aspects of her personal life. Playfully integrating high and low art, she incorporates elements such as vintage cookbooks, retro glamour girls, and advertising into her formal explorations of color, pattern, and fom. "By placing seemingly disparate imagery together within the confines of the picture plane, I create relationships and meaning that speak to who I am," says Douglas.
