Whiz Kid: Clayton Students Recognized for ACT Scores

Two of the Clayton High School students will graduate this spring; one graduated in spring 2010.

  • Whiz Kids' Name(s): Meredith Redick (Class of 2010),  Richard Millett (Class of 2011) and Rebecca Steinberg (Class of 2011)
  • Whiz Kids' School/Church/Community Center:
  • Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: The three students received a perfect score on the ACT.
  • Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness: The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recently recognized Clayton High because one of its former Class of 2010 students—Meredith Redick—earned a perfect 36 on the ACT, a standardized college-entrance test taken by students nationwide. "The average composite score for the national high school Class of 2010 was 21.0," the education department stated in a news release. "Only one-tenth of 1 percent of students tested nationally earn a top composite score." Since that time, two more Clayton students have scored a perfect 36—Richard Millett and Rebecca Steinberg, both of the Class of 2011.
