Why Go: Enjoy food, music, a craft market and cultural exhibits at this event, sponsored by the International Institute of St. Louis.

When/Where: Saturday and Sunday at community center in Richmond Heights
Why Go: The Heights will be closed for maintenance starting Monday and continuing through Sept. 5. So take advantage of the time you've got left to take a swim, use the exercise equipment or play basketball.

Why Go: Enjoy music by St. Louis-area band Fanfare. The group's music includes Motown, rhythm and blues, disco and more, its website states. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring food, drinks, blankets and chairs.
