Lane Changes On I-270 Tonight

If you're planning on driving on I-270 this evening, check out these lane closures and changes.

From the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT):

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close southbound I-270 traffic lanes between Dorsett Road and Page Avenue/Route 364 beginning Thursday night, June 23, weather permitting, to shift the traffic lanes.

Crews will close the left lane of southbound I-270 beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday. At 10 p.m., crews will close a second lane. The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Friday morning, with all four lanes shifted to the right.

All four through lanes will be open on southbound I-270 between Dorsett and Page, but with reduced speed limits of 45 mph, and narrowed lanes with no shoulders. Signs, lane markings and temporary rumble strips will be laid on the interstate to warn motorists of the approaching work zone and to guide motorists through the work zone. Work on the southbound I-270 Marine Avenue bridge is expected to take about 6-8 weeks, weather permitting.

Once work is completed on the southbound section, crews will move to the northbound section of the I-270 bridge over Marine Avenue. The existing I-270 bridges over Marine Avenue were built in 1965. This project includes bridge rehabilitation and a new driving surface on the existing bridges.
