Cat Fight in Richmond Heights

Compassion for a sick kitten always is a good thing unless it is the start of an argument. Police in Richmond Heights responded to what they called a "minor physical altercation" at a home on Hoover Avenue on July 2 when two women, ages 52 and 59, argued over the care of the ailing feline. Neither woman wished to press charges against the other after the catfight.

Driver Assaulted During 'Bus Stop'

Two men in a car at a stoplight near Interstate 44 and Bowles Avenue in Fenton reported being assaulted July 10 by a group of 15 men who exited a "party bus" at the intersection. There were no injuries reported and the victims could not identify the bus.

Thankfully, He Wasn't Holding a Slurpee

A man who was apparently driving while eating July 8 near Highway 30 and Gravois Bluffs Boulevard in Fenton is being sought by police in a road rage incident. The driving diner is suspected of having thrown a burrito in retaliation after another driver accidentally cut him off. No injuries were reported.

Shell Games in Sappington

Several turtles were stolen July 15 from a backyard habitat at a home on Sappington Road in Sappington.

Burglar Opts for TV Reruns

A homeowner on Golf Ridge Drive in Affton was victimized July 9 when a television was stolen from his home. A week later, on July 16, the television purchased to replace the missing one also was stolen. 

No Phone Charges Made

A woman told a deputy responding to a 911 hangup call July 18 in Fenton that she had called because her son was arguing with her. The son said his mother threw a cellphone charger at him, striking him in the arm. The deputy observed no injuries. The woman then said her son was aggravating her while she was on the computer, prompting her to throw the charger near him. She said the charger struck the refrigerator. Officials seized the charger as evidence.

Auto-Theft Team Nabs Four Camaros

Four Chevrolet Camaros were stolen July 11 from the Bommarito car dealership at 6177 Lindbergh Blvd. in South County. All four vehicles were recovered in Wellston with the help of OnStar.

A Big Lawn Job

A lawn trimmer, leaf blower and lawn edger were stolen from a tool shed on Grasso Avenue in Affton. The suspects also attempted to steal a riding lawn mower by pushing it with their vehicle, but they damaged the mower and decided to leave it behind. The mower was recovered at the intersection of Grasso Avenue and Union Road.
