Clayton Teens Make Forbes 30 Under 30 List

Simone and Jake Bernstein founded VolunTEENnation.

Simone and Jake Bernstein, both graduates of Clayton High School, were recently named to Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs list.

Simone and Jake, now 20 and 18, founded VolunTEENnation, an organization dedicated to "spreading the spirit of volunteerism for youth and families throughout the nation."

According to the Forbes story, 7,500 teenagers have found opportunities to give back through VolunteenNation since its launch in 2009.

The site began as STLVolunteen.org and transititioned to VolunTEENnation.org when the movement went national.

Simone Bernstein told the St. Louis Business Journal that volunteerism made a big impact on her own life when her father, who was in the Navy, was deployed overseas.

Simone now attends St. Bonaventure University and her Jake attends the at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
