At Concordia Seminary a Christmas Tree fit for a Library

The amazing Christmas tree made out of books

This week a new Christmas tree was unveiled on the main floor of the library, created and constructed by library staffer, Jill Oschwald and her family.  Her husband Jeff is a professor of Exegetical Theology at Concordia.

What makes this tree unique is that it is made out of books, 390 large green volumns of the National Union Catalog topped off by an angel.  Stepping up to the tree it is difficult not to be awed by how perfectly it was constructed, evenly balanced on all sides, perfect symmetry in height.

Was it possible to carry and set all those heavy books in place without a whopper of a backache?  That is unknown.  But what is true is Concordia Seminary welcomes anyone who would like see the tree.  The library hours are at this link.
