Kids Can Learn to be Farmer's Market Chefs!

There's just two days left in National Farmer's Week and we have a perfect way for families with children to participate.  We're pleased to host the Children's Market Tour and Cooking Class again this year at the Clayton Farmer's Market.

The Tour and Class are led by Millie Mattfeldt-Beman of Les Dame d'Escoffier and VISTA organizer Aaron McMullin, as well as students from SLU's School of Dietetics and Nutrition.

Wearing chef hats and aprons, kids get to meet the farmers, shop for their fruits and veggies, and make their very own Farmers' Market Dish! It's a great way for them to learn where their food comes from and that eating healthy can be a fun and natural part of their lives.

Do you know a young Chef or a child who already loves to be creative in the kitchen?  Bring them to Market this Saturday and let us help you give new meaning to "playing with your food!"
