O’FALLON, ILL. – Shuttered since 2005, the Assisted Living and Memory Care Center at 700 Weber Road in O’Fallon, Ill. will re-open March 16 as new owner The Colonnade Senior Living advances a comprehensive $13.67 million expansion and renovation program being orchestrated by Clayton, Mo.-based general contractor Pinnacle Contracting, Inc.

To execute the assignment, Pinnacle linked a pair of existing structures built in the 1960s with a three-story, 35,000-square-foot addition giving the assisted living center a total of 92 units – 60 independent and assisted living apartments and 32 specifically designed memory care residences.

According to Tim McLaughlin, Pinnacle project manager, the construction team demolished a section of one existing building to accommodate the new wood-frame addition which is clad in brick and designed to blend with the architecture of standing structures.  “Diligent pre-planning and close job-site coordination has been required to seamlessly and cohesively mesh the new space and its mechanical systems with the existing structures across three levels,” he said.

The Colonnade will provide a continuum of services for the elderly, including independent living, assisted living and memory care.  One-bedroom apartments have a full kitchen, while studio units have a kitchenette.  All units include a balcony.

Pinnacle is also significantly enhancing outdoor amenities with two new patio courtyards, a fountain, new campus-wide landscaping and re-configured parking that is more convenient for visitors and guests.

Architect for the project is Joseph Toman, principal of jta architects in Terrace Park , Ohio (suburban Cincinnati).
