QuikTrip Has Contract on Hanley Road Property in Richmond Heights

The city manager said they could file to be on the May plan and zoning agenda.

As QuikTrip urges Maplewood residents to pass a proposition which would allow the gas station to relocate the Maplewood store to Manchester Road and Big Bend Boulevard, the company also currently has a contract on a Richmond Heights property.

The proposed location is at 1530 S. Hanley Road, the site of a previous racquetball club. It's the northeast corner of Elinor Avenue and S. Hanley Road.

"We have the property under contract, but there's issues with county highway, and other issues that we're working with the city on right now," said Alan Renner, real estate manager for QuikTrip.

Richmond Heights City Manager Amy Hamilton said QuikTrip is working on a site plan, but they're not ready to file with the city. She said they still have to get clearance from the utility companies.

"If they want to be on the April agenda they would submit this week, and they have not submitted this week I believe," she said. "Maybe next month they'll submit, but you never know until someone is actually ready."

Hamilton said once they submit it would go to plan and zoning and there would be a public hearing.

QuikTrip had a store on an island in the middle of S. Hanley Road before Maplewood Commons was built and the road was reconfigured.

"Ever since that time they've been hoping to purchase land to replace that store, so that's what the store at 1530 South Hanley would do," Hamilton said.

What do you think of this location? Would it be convenient for you?
