Katie Lee Lives the Pizza Life

Lee is realizing the success of her artisan pizza parlor, and expanding with a second location.

For Katie Lee, the hardest part about having a dream is keeping it alive.

Lee told the Stl Curator  she always dreamed of opening St. Louis’ first artisan pizza parlor. She also said almost everyone she talked to about her idea told her it wouldn’t work.

But she pushed onward and now her restaurant on Clayton Road has been proudly serving legions of devoted clients for over five years.

Her father is her business partner, and the two opened the doors to  Katie’s Pizzeria when Lee was just twenty-six.

Lee plans to let her father continue to run the restaurant on Clayton, and will open the second one with her fiancé, local artist Ted Collier.

The couple  generated startup funds via a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $40,000. Click here to see what St Louis Magazine had to say about it.
