Clayton Company Brings Car Power to 2012 Saint Louis Auto Show
Microgrid Energy is providing electric-vehicle charging technology as part of the four-day event.
-based is showing off electric-vehicle charging technology as part of the Saint Louis Auto Show that began Thursday.
“As we’ve seen from the recent Detroit Auto Show, nearly every major automaker is preparing to bring at least one electric vehicle to the market in the near future,” stated Rick Hunter, the company's chief executive, in a news release this week.
“Cities across the nation are installing infrastructure to support the new wave of vehicles, and St. Louis will be no exception. Microgrid Energy is proud to be at the front lines, bringing EV charging stations to St. Louis and helping promote the use of cleaner, more fuel-efficient vehicles.”
The company's charging stations will power vehicles that auto show visitors can test drive.

Since last year, Microgrid also has collaborated with the following businesses to offer public charging stations:
- The Laurel apartments on Washington Avenue (St. Louis)
It also installed solar panels on an electric-powered truck used by the Saint Louis Science Center.

The auto show runs through Sunday.
