Clayton Clock in a Clock Shop isn't For Sale
It's dated 1803, and its maker spent his entire career making it.
A Clayton merchant of vintage clocks and watches has one clock that's not for sale.
It's engraved with its English maker, Thomas Keegan, and the year 1803.
Ella Ilyashov, a gemologist appraiser at Timekeepers, at 17 N. Meramec Avenue in Clayton, said Keegan spent his entire working career building the clock for commission.

"It's accurate to within a minute a day, which is good for its age," she said. The clock tells the day, date and phases of the moon. It stands about six feet tall.
Ilyashov said they bought the clock from an estate, and declined to estimate its worth.
