Clayshire Electric Building Remains for Sale

The facility has stood vacant on Big Bend Boulevard for a little over a year, owner Richard Wolters said.

The Clayshire Electric building, 1215 S. Big Bend Blvd., has been on the market in for a little over a year. People have expressed interest in purchasing the site, but so far it isn't under contract, its owner said this week.

"That's a fine location," said Richard Wolters, the owner of the building and the person responsible for marketing the site. Between 25,000 and 27,000 cars pass the building daily, he said, giving the location good visibility.

Wolters continues to remove merchandise, tools and equipment from the building. While the sale price of the building hasn't been finalized, it will likely be around $600,000.

The 4,000-square-foot facility has been operated in a number of different ways over the years, including as a car dealership. The 2,000 square feet at the front of the building is office space; the remaining 2,000 square feet is meant for storage. An additional 2,000 square feet is available in the basement.

Outside are 22 parking spots, and additional parking is available behind the building.

It's not the only building in search of new ownership on Big Bend. The and also is not under contract.
