Carrollton Bank Introduces New Forsyth Office Space

The business opened in October 2010 in Clayton and has since expanded to include two floors.

Carrollton Bank's year-old location hosted a ribbon-cutting Friday to mark the recent opening of its renovated office space.

"Clayton is the place you want to be as a bank," said Chief Executive Tom Hough, whose great-great-grandfather started the company, before a ribbon-cutting sponsored by the . Carrollton now operates nine branches between St. Louis and Springfield, IL. Six of them are in the St. Louis area.

The Clayton branch opened in October 2010 on the second floor of the building at 7911 Forsyth Blvd. 's lease there had expired. UMB Bank has since moved to Centene Plaza, and Carrollton opened a renovated office this year on Oct. 3 that now includes the first floor as well.

Carrollton chose the space because it already offered a vault, two drive-up lanes and parking, Hough said. GS&S served as the contractor for the renovation.

Scott Larson is president of the Clayton branch. He previously worked for 10 years at Southwest Bank and 10 years at Commerce Bank, both in Clayton, Hough said.

The bank is different from others in the area because most of its shareholders are its employees, he said.
