$10K Away: Final Push to Meet Kickstarter Goal for Katie Lee's New Restaurant

The Katie's Pizzeria owner is inviting backers to attend a cocktail party this Saturday, where they can sample appetizers from her new concept.

Katie’s Pizzeria owner Katie Lee is looking for the community's help to expand her artisan cooking to Rock Hill, and this week she surpassed the 75 percent mark to funding.

Lee launched a Kickstarter campaign in late January in hopes of opening Katie's Pizza and Pasta, and is now less than $10,000 away from her $40,000 goal. Interested backers have just over one week left to contribute funds.

Katie Lee is sweetening the deal for backers. Those who contribute can attend a cocktail party at the Park Pacific Building, 1226 Olive St., on March 9, according to a project update from Lee. Guests can enjoy cocktails, wine and beer--and they'll also get to sample some appetizers Lee has planned for Katie's Pizza & Pasta.

Support to the Kickstarter began rapidly. The restaurant was approximately 25 percent of the way to their goal prior to a KSDK report on Feb. 7; by the end of that weekend, $22,556 had been pledged. However, the full $40,000 must be pledged by March 15 to receive the full funding.
