YOUTH - Chamber Project St. Louis
September 14th "YOUTH" - a program featuring the well loved Beethoven Septet for strings and winds. The theme of this concert is the energy of youthful love, mischief and opportunity.
The concert begins with the musical story of the legendary prankster of German folklore - Till Eulenspiegel, as told by Richard Strauss. Hilary Tann's Duo beautifully intertwines the unusual combination of soprano saxophone and viola. Nielsen's Serenata-Invano depicts a band hired to serenade a young lady - does it work? Beethoven's remarkable Septet caps things off. He was just 19 when he wrote this piece and on the threshold of incredible fame. The music positively explodes with joyful and playful energy. This is going to be a really fun concert!
