Clayton Idol

St. Louis’ most talented karaoke singers will perform at
6 p.m. August 16th at Double D Karaoke, 1740 South Brentwood Blvd., for the third annual Clayton Idol, presented by Huntleigh McGehee and Double D Karaoke. The winner is scheduled to perform one song at Parties in the Park in Downtown Clayton September 12th during a break by popular rock cover band American Idle sponsored by Graybar Electric.

“Last year we were proud to raise $1,163 for the tornado victims in Joplin, through Clayton Idol,” said Ellen Gale, executive director of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce. “This year we are focusing our efforts on raising money for The American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis. We hope to continue to make significant contributions to excellent organizations in the future years through this fun event.”

Spectators can vote on their favorite singers by donating to this year’s charity, The American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis during the performances. The singer that receives the most in donations from audience members will be awarded the title of 2012 Clayton Idol and have the opportunity to sing one song at Parties in the Park in Downtown Clayton on September 12th and win a fabulous prize package.

Singers must pre-register by August 10th in order to compete. The cost to participate or attend is $20 and includes appetizers, two drinks and live karaoke entertainment. Spectators are asked to purchase their tickets in advance to reserve a seat and receive the advance pricing. If space permits, tickets are available at the door for $25. Participants and guests must be 21 to attend.
