Patch Picks: Events and Happenings Feb. 13-19

Here's what's happening in and near Clayton, Richmond Heights, Ladue and University City.

Clayton-Richmond Heights Patch teams up with neighboring Patch sites each week to round up events and happenings in the area. Here are our picks for this week.

Monday, Feb. 13.

  • In , a new exhibit from artist Belinda Lee is opening on Monday at . Inside Out/Outside In is "made up of narratives that juxtapose the everyday with the fantastic as in a dream," according to COCA’s website.
  • If you’ve got something important to say (or sing) on Monday, you might like to know that it’s open mic night on Monday at , located at 7555 Olive in U. City.  If you’re not into performing, head over to Pin-Up Bowl and check out DJ DeadAsDisco’s tunes while you bowl.
  • In , there’s still time to see the Sound and Vision exhibition series at the . The six exhibitions in the series focus on the sensory, cultural and personal aspects of sound. For more information, visit the St. Louis Artists’ Guild’s website.
  • The ’s Cupid’s Ball starts at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at . Girls are encouraged to bring their dads, uncles or grandfathers to the Ritz for a “very enchanting evening,” which will include a buffet dinner, dancing, photo opportunities and more. Tuesday, Feb. 14. Happy Valentine’s Day!

  • In Ladue, the has Valentine’s Day covered for kids and teens. The library is offering a special Valentine’s Day story time for kids at 7 p.m. and an Anti-Valentine’s Day Party for teens from 7 to 9 p.m. Registration is required for the teen party.
  • Also in Ladue, tours of the , located at 10601 Clayton Rd. will be given every Tuesday night, beginning Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. The tours will continue through Mar. 30, and there will be no tour on Mar. 23.
  • If you’re looking for a place to take your sweetheart for lunch on Tuesday, consider checking out the ’s Valentine’s Day Special. The cooking school is offering a special Valentine’s Day lunch at The Presentation Room Restaurant. Lunch for two is $30, and reservations are required. Wednesday, Feb. 15.

  • In Ladue, the is hosting the on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The meeting will focus on protecting and archiving documents and will feature Dr. Everman, archivist for the St. Louis Jewish Community Archives and the Holocaust Museum.   • In University City, the will host an exhibit called Robert Gero on Balazs Kicsiny: Killing Time. The event starts at 5 p.m. Robert Gero, curator of the exhibit, will lead a walk-through and discussion of the installation. For more information, visit the museum’s website.
  • The is offering an eBook Device Training on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The interactive session will feature library experts who will help you learn how to download ebooks from the library.
