The Hanley House Has Two New Porches, Group Celebrated With Music

The Buckhannon Brothers and Clayton High School junior, Carly Beard provided music for the celebration.

The Hanley House, a farm house built built in 1855 in Clayton, has two new porches.

The front and back porches have been reconstructed over the last year, along with ADA access.

"We received some wonderful gifts to the museum," Clayton Community Resource Coordinator Sarah Umlauf said.

Umlauf said Susan Hanley, the great granddaughter of Martin Franklin Hanley, the builder of the house, started it off with a challenge grant to the Clayton Century Foundation.

She said the foundation was able to meet her challenge, and exceed it by three-fold.
