The Clayton Farmer's Market isn't just the place for fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. The market also features homemade gifts.
MG Designs is new to the market this year. Owner Mimi Griffith takes vintage flags and creates unique throw pillows. Her designs include University of Missouri and Saint Louis University designs, as well as a vintage City of St. Louis design.
"I saw something like these when I was on vacation in Michigan," Griffith said. "I thought 'I could do that'."
The pillows come in small, medium and large sizes. Griffith said she loves the challenge of custom orders, to the point that she developed a friendship with a woman in Texas because the two went back and forth so many times trying to create the perfect design.
The Wildwood resident's designs are also available on Etsy.
The Clayton Farmers Market is open every Saturday in the summer months until 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot outside Straub's.
