House Prowl: Berkshire Drive in Richmond Heights

This week we take a trip to the Berkshires—two homes on Berkshire Drive in Richmond Heights, that is.

This week, we're exploring two houses on Berkshire Drive in Richmond Heights.

First up is 66 Berkshire Dr., listed by Helen Costello and Pat Collins of Laura McCarthy Real Estate for $1.19 million. Upon walking into the house, guests are greeted with a two-story foyer that sets the stage for this spacious home. The foyer connects the formal dining room and the rich wood-paneled library that features a criss-cross paneled beam ceiling.

The kitchen is roomy with high-end stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a planning desk and a breakfast room. Beyond is the hearth room with a fireplace and plenty of built-ins. Opposite is the living room that has another fireplace, a wet bar and views of the backyard. Also off the kitchen is the raised deck featuring a pergola that has aces to the yard below.

Downstairs is more entertaining space. There is a recreation room, a wet bar, a wine room with a ornate wrought iron gate, a kids area,  a workout room and a full bath and pool changing room. All of this leads to a covered patio with brick arches and an in-ground swimming pool.

Upstairs are four large bedrooms that open to a bonus room. The master has great views of the grounds and has a well-equipped, 30-foot walk-in closet. The yard makes great use of the terrain: The swimming pool is private, and there are level areas for recreation. To see it, call Helen Costello or Pat Collins at 314-725-5100.

Next on our tour is 63 Berkshire Dr., listed by Carole Less of Laura McCarthy Real Estate for $735,000. This classic two-story colonial with stunning gardens provides plenty of opportunity to live and entertain, indoors and out.

Upon entering the home, pass under the upper front balcony with classic wrought iron railings. The foyer connects the formal living room, featuring a fireplace, with the formal dining room and kitchen beyond. The updated kitchen is bright and roomy, and it includes an eat-in area and bright solid surface countertops.

The family room has a brick fireplace and connects to the elevated screened-in porch. The porch overlooks the grounds, which include an in-ground swimming pool. Upstairs are four bedrooms and baths that complete the living quarters.

Downstairs are two family rooms, one with another fireplace and the other large enough for a pool table. That leads to a covered area under the porch with a fenced swimming pool beyond. To have closer look at this property, call Carole at 314-725-5100.
