Brian Kaveney Receives Society of Industrial Security Professionals 2013 Society Award

Brian Kaveney, an Armstrong Teasdale partner, has received the 2013 Society Award from the Society of Industrial Security Professionals (NCMS) in recognition of his efforts and contributions to the Society’s advancements.

Kaveney is a frequent speaker at NCMS events at which he advises facility security officers about security issues and regulations. The 6,000-member NCMS works to advance the practice of classification management in the disciplines of industrial security, information security, government designated unclassified information, and intellectual property.

In his national practice, Kaveney guides companies, key management personnel, and employees through the process of obtaining and keeping the approval that is required to work with the Department of Defense, the military services and other agencies. He also works with government defense contractors to develop strong compliance programs and avoid violations of government procurement laws.

The founder of the firm’s Security and Facility Clearance Task Force, Kaveney was named a 2013 St. Louis Business Journal “40 under 40.” He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.A.in History from the College of the Holy Cross. Prior to law school, he served as a United States Marine Corps Infantry Officer. Kaveney achieved the rank of Captain and received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
