St. Louis New Economy: Keeping it Fresh

The St. Louis region has a lot to offer in terms of new ideas and innovation, you just have to look for it! The St. Louis New Economy is alive and well!

Not growing up in the St. Louis area, I often find myself pointing out the great treasures of our area - some well known and others off the beaten track! Often those who grow up in a place don't see what newcomers see!

It's true in business too! As an owner of a small marketing communications firm, there isn't a day that goes by where I don't meet someone new who is doing something interesting and outside of the box! I call it the St. Louis New Economy -- those small and medium size businesses (and entrepreneurs) who are trying new strategies, promoting new products and creating local jobs right here in St. Louis. We cannot rest on the long-standing "big business" mentality that often characterizes the self-esteem and measurement of a region.

As a community and a nation, we have to open our minds to new ways of doing business, see the connections around us, and capitalize on the opportunities that come our way. Consider learning something new, talking to someone about their business challenges, and finding common ground as  great starting points for keeping in fresh in the St. Louis New Economy!
