Westboro Baptist Church Schedules Clayton High School Protest

The group is known for holding protests against homosexuality at military funerals.

 

A group of Westboro Baptist Church members is planning a Feb. 6 protest against homosexuality at Clayton High School, KSDK Newschannel 5 reported. Members of the church are known for protesting at military funerals.

Quoting from KSDK:

"The group plans to spend about 30 minutes protesting in front of the school, and Clayton High School officials are already taking a proactive approach to the visit."

Sexual orientation a recent discussion topic in Clayton

Both the School District of Clayton and the City of Clayton recently adopted policies that prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

The city approved a domestic partnership registry last week.

CHS also has a student group called the Gay Straight Alliance that works to promote tolerance.
