Voting for the 2012 Clayton Person of the Year story also opened today.
In Richmond Heights, here are the nominees, listed in alphabetical order by last name:
Michael Jones, District 2 Councilman in Richmond Heights
Two users nominated Jones. The following is their language:
1) Michael Jones is very devoted and dedicated to the residents of Richmond Heights. He takes time out of his busy schedule to have monthly District 2 meetings to keep his residents informed. He has spent numerous hours organizing the Richmond Heights Centennial Celebration and Veteran’s Memorial. He’s always available to lend a hand or help a person in need. He is the most kind and generous person I have ever met.
2) Michael Jones has worked for the betterment of our city and its residents for over 25 years. He has the only council newsletter, has worked for better street lighting and neighborhood watch programs, chairs the Richmond Heights Centennial Celebration committee and is a lifelong resident of Richmond Heights. All you need to do is just ask Mike and he is in 100 percent. You find people sometime who stands above others in serving, helping and being hands-on. This is my councilmen, Mike Jones.
Andrea Moore, general office clerk of Richmond Heights
People that work for the government in general are usually kinda rude but this young lady is always nice to residents no matter what. I am nominating her for being the first point of contact for the city of Richmond Heights - for always being kind to residents but mostly for single-handedly making sure Richmond Heights and Maplewood senior citizens have a free ride provided through the PARC van service. She always has a pleasant attitude and always goes above and beyond to help people.

I totally agree Montana but think about it whoever takes this voting seriously is an idiot. This like all other voting is fixed. I am sure all council members the mayor and city employees will vote with city council. They probably had a meeting about it. I mean if a low level employee who probably does all the grunt work for the city won over city council can you image......oh the horror of it all!!!! Don't worry she won't win if she wants to keep her job. This is a joke!

Hi Charles — The voting is not fixed. It's a poll through Patch, which is completely unaffiliated with any government agency. We're just a digital community gathering place. Thank you for reading and voting on the site though!

I agree with Ryan the site is not fixed two people were nominated by either themselves or residents. It is a complete honor that people like them enough to nominate them and vote for them. Both positions work hard and both people are deserving. That being said I totally agree with Charles there is no way they will let the Receptionist win. It would be an embarrassment to the city. While it is true she probably works the hardest and puts in 40 hour weeks to the city she is NOT the most important. The council member is. She definately will not win regardless of whether she deserves it or not. Personally, I think we should focus on taxes and jobs not which dumb dumb should be in the spotlight for the day!
