Dale Avenue – St. Louis Great Streets Initiative/Complete Streets/Place Making: The project will incorporate enhanced intersection design at Laclede Station Road and Bredell, decorative lights, new sidewalks and gutters, bio-swales bump outs, and newly planted trees. The project is sponsored by Federal Highway funding. The City was awarded roughly $1,500,000. The City is responsible for about $500,000. The project total is over $2,000,000. Residential neighborhoods are generally occupied only by residential uses, although small areas of neighborhood shops embedded within them or along an edge of the neighborhood. This place type could include almost any type of residential structures, from single-family detached housing to multi-story apartment buildings.
Big Bend Corridor: With the addition of a full four-way interchange at Big Bend and I-64, the City expects increased commercial interest along Big Bend. A study of the corridor from Clayton Road to I-64 happened in 2011. There are plans to continue south and study Big Bend from I-64 south.
