Police: Burglary Reported on Aberdeen Place in Clayton

An attempted burglary also reported Monday does not appear to be connected, an official with the Clayton Police Department said.

A burglary and an attempted burglary reported Monday in Clayton do not appear to be connected, said Community Services Officer Korey Golcynski of the .

Several items were taken during the burglary on Aberdeen Place near DeMun Avenue, Golcynski said. He declined to describe what was taken because an investigation is ongoing.

The perpetrator entered the home through a back window, though it's unclear at what time of day the burglary occurred. Someone told the homeowner a burglary had happened, Golcynski said.

The report of an attempted burglary came from the 700 block of Francis Place, nearly 3 miles west of Aberdeen on the opposite side of Clayton. The perpetrator did not enter the house and did not take anything.

The distance between the two incidents indicates they involved different perpetrators, Golcynski said.
