UPDATE: Maddox-Dallas Files for Re-Election as Clayton Alderman

Meanwhile, a St. Louis County official said county residents are expected to get to name a new assessor.

Ward I Alderman Andrea Maddox-Dallas said Dec. 28 that she has filed to seek another term on the Clayton Board of Aldermen.

Maddox-Dallas said she filed Dec. 15, the day after the filing period for the April 5 election opened.

Clayton-Richmond Heights Patch reported earlier today that no additional Clayton filings had been made since Dec. 14 based on information available from City Hall at the time. Additionally, Mark Winings and Steve Singer have filed for the Ward III seat being vacated by Alderman Alex Berger because of term limits. Alderman Cynthia Garnholz also has refiled for her Ward II seat.

Singer's candidate committee, Friends to Elect Steve Singer, has filed papers with the Missouri Ethics Commission. Its treasurer is Kenneth Goldman of Clayton.

No formal paperwork appeared to have been filed by committees for Winings or Garnholz.

Richmond Heights will not have another municipal election until 2012.

At the St. Louis County level, residents are expected to name an assessor in the April election.

It marks the only countywide decision expected so far on the upcoming ballot, said Laura Goebel, the county's election administrative coordinator.

The assessor question is expected because of the passage of Amendment 1 in November. Voters agreed to amend the Missouri Constitution to make the county assessor position an elected one in most counties with a charter form of government. St. Louis County's charter is available online. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has interviewed several prospective candidates, including a Clayton attorney.
