Labor Day 2012 St. Louis: What's Open, What's Closed, Events and More
Here's how the Monday holiday will affect life in Richmond Heights and Clayton.
This year, Labor Day falls on Sept. 3, 2012. Trash pick-up, a City Council meeting and other aspects of life in Clayton and Richmond Heights are being affected by Monday's Labor Day holiday.

TRASH AND RECYCLABLES PICK-UP
- Allied Waste pick-up for trash, yard waste and recyclables will happen a day later than normal, the City of Richmond Heights reported on its calendar. Allied Waste serves both that city and Clayton.
OPEN
- The Heights community center in Richmond Heights will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
- The Center of Clayton in Clayton will maintain regular hours from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
CLOSED
- The Mid-County Branch of the St. Louis County Library, located in Clayton, will be closed Monday in observation of the holiday.
- The Richmond Heights Memorial Library will be closed both Sunday and Monday.
- City Halls in both cities will be closed.
- The Lawrence K. Roos Government Building will be closed.
- The School District of Clayton and the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District both will be closed.
MEETING CHANGES
- Richmond Heights City Council will next meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday because of the Labor Day holiday. It normally meets on Mondays.
